Bread and Puppet Theater, a puppet theater based in Glover, Vt. that uses art as a way to raise awareness of political and social issues, will be performing at the University with about 10 students.

The theater, which got its name from sharing its own fresh bread with audiences as a way of creating community, believes that art should be as basic to life as bread.

Sponsored by Students for Social Justice, Amnesty International, Women's Caucus, Grassroots, the event is also supported by Sigma Beta Rho, SAAC, the Graduate Program of Visual and Cultural Studies, the Movement and Dance Program and the Departments of Anthropology, Art and Art History, and English.
