As we prepare to confer their degrees this week, we’re celebrating this year’s graduates by highlighting members of the class and their accomplishments.

Seven Rochester undergraduates, five graduate students, and six alumni will receive funding for graduate degrees in STEM, STEM education, and social science fields.

Not every student can go home. More than 700 Rochester undergraduates have been living on the River Campus, in single rooms, since the University closed residence halls for most of the undergraduate population, in late March.

It's a bittersweet spring for the University's 2020 Davis Projects for Peace and DAAD RISE winners. Fifteen students were selected for the summer programs, which have been canceled.

The annual Undergraduate Research Expo—typically held in person, with printed displays featuring students’ research projects—is this year taking place online, with 96 virtual “posters.”

The University of Rochester’s newest inductees into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society include 120 seniors and 20 juniors. Another 16 students were elected as juniors last spring.

“Whether our winners are just down the street practicing social distancing or halfway around the world has no bearing on their impact upon the University, their worthiness in receiving the award, or our pride in their many accomplishments.”
