Academic Services—Pre-Major Advising
Students interested in degree programs in arts and sciences work extensively with a pre-major advisor until the end of the sophomore year, or earlier if accepted into a major. They consult with their advisors when they register for courses and consider dropping or adding any courses. After being admitted to a major, students are assigned faculty advisors in the area of their majors.
Students interested in degree programs in the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences have faculty advisors from the desired majors assigned to them at the beginning of the first year and are encouraged to consult with them frequently. These faculty will remain as the students’ advisors until graduation, unless students change majors or are reclassified to another graduating class.
