Education Abroad Photo Contest
All students who participate in an education abroad program are encouraged to enter our annual education abroad photo contest. Photos are judged based on the categories outlined below. The contest will open on February 19th to those students who have participated in an education abroad program during the 2023 year.

Categories
Cityscapes and Landscapes: Capture a photo of beautiful buildings or stunning natural scenery, show us a glimpse into your surroundings.
Putting the Study in Study Abroad: Show us your experiences in the classroom, study tours, field trips, and academic fun!
Once-In-A-Lifetime: A once-in-a-lifetime moment or memory captured from your study abroad experience. You or another student must be in the picture..
Live Like A Local: Show us how you connected with the local culture, whether through homestays, roommates, or locals you met. Share fairs, festivals, celebrations, and everyday life from study abroad.
Rocky Pride: Show us your school pride by either wearing your UR clothing, holding up your Rocky’s, or anything else school pride #GoYellowJackets

International Student Photo Contest
The International Student Office (ISO) portion of the photo contest is reserved for international students (as well as exchange students) only, The Center for Education Abroad (CEA) portion of the photo contest is for domestic students and any international students who have partaken in a education abroad program during the 2023 year.
Categories
UR Experience: A captured moment of your time on UR campus including classes, campus activities, and other ways that the U.S. education experience has shaped you. Photos may contain people but the main subject should be the activity/surroundings.
US Sightseeing: Wonders of the U.S. (outside of Rochester) including unique landscapes, cityscapes, and monuments.
Home Culture: A photo you took at home showing us the culture and country that you are proud of.
College Connections: Photos of people that you've met during your time at college, including friendships you've made and people you have impacted positively. The photo does not have to be on campus. You can be included in the photo or not. Subjects must consent to photos being posted on university websites and social media.
Rochester Community: Places you've visited off-campus that have left a mark on your memory and experiences you've had in the Greater Rochester area.
How the Contest Works
After the submission deadline, our panel of judges will vote on the finalists of each category. These finalists will be contacted, and we will upload their photos to our Instagram page. Here our 500+ followers will vote for their favorites. The photos with the most likes will win.
