Campus Life for Incoming Exchange Students

Quick facts

Campus facilities and housing

The River Campus serves as the central hub for academic and student life for many of our students. There, you’ll find a large gym and athletic opportunities, an outdoor stadium, five libraries, and more than twenty computer labs, including departmental labs.

River Campus also has a variety of on-campus housing options. Students can choose from residence halls with shared rooms, shared apartments, and single rooms, but are placed based on availability. Most residence halls are within walking distance to classes, while others are served by University shuttle.

  • On-campus living expected: Exchange students are expected to live in on-campus housing. If you prefer off-campus living, please contact our office to discuss an exemption.
  • Dining plan required: All students, regardless of residence, are required to have a meal plan. Learn more about dining at Rochester.
