Welcome to the Rochester family! The Office of Orientation and New Student Programs is here to support you and help prepare you for a successful start to your University of Rochester journey.

The School of Arts & Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences' undergraduate orientation program is required for all incoming first-year and transfer students and consists of two parts:

Part One

Rochester Ready: online orientation

This program is designed to introduce you to University academics and student life. You are required to complete Rochester Ready before you arrive on campus. There are four main components to the Rochester Ready program:

Part Two

Welcome Week

After completing the Rochester Ready program, you are required to attend Welcome Week. Planned by the orientation team, Welcome Week events are designed to provide you with opportunities to connect with fellow incoming students, learn to navigate campus and academics, and celebrate some of our unique University of Rochester traditions.
