Wherever You Go, There UR!

University of Rochester Alumni Association Tours are designed to provide worry-free basics--transportation, transfers, accommodations, some meals, baggage handling, and professional guides--and still allow you time to pursue your individual interests. Escorts drawn from University faculty and staff accompany most tours to provide special services and educational enrichment.
Alumni Association tours are open to all members of the University community and their immediate families. Other relatives and friends are welcome as space permits (these unaffiliated travelers are requested to make a $100 gift to the University).

St. Petersburg and the Baltic Sea Countries

June 15-28, 1997

Enjoy this special itinerary featuring the newly independent Baltic republics--Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania--aboard the M.V. Kristina Regina, a 200-passenger ship completely renovated in 1990. Your voyage starts in Helsinki, Finland, and includes visits to St. Petersburg, Russia; Tallinn, Estonia; Riga, Latvia; Kaliningrad, Russia; Gdansk, Poland; Lübeck, Germany; and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Alumni College of Great Britain

This trip offers an unprecedented opportunity to learn, explore, and relax with fellow alumni in an international setting. This educational program is set amid the magnificence of England's Yorkshire in Harrogate, famous for its gardens and floral displays. Your days include seminars on the history and people of Yorkshire and excursions to scenic and significant locations such as York Minster, Fountains Abbey, and the dales and moors of northern England.

Alaskan Wilderness

July 21-August 2, 1997

On land, you'll ride in the luxury of the glass-domed rail cars of the Midnight Sun Express, and, at sea, you'll cruise aboard the four-star deluxe Dynasty. You'll begin your Alaskan adventure with a breathtaking scenic cruise of the Inside Passage, making port calls at Ketchikan, Juneau, and Sitka. Then you'll fly to the frontier city of Fairbanks, where you'll board the train to Talkeetna in the shadow of Mount McKinley. You'll spend two days rafting, hiking, or just relaxing in the unspoiled surroundings of Denali before concluding your journey in Anchorage.

Autumn in Provence

Joins us on a 12-day autumn journey to savor the sights and flavors of Burgundy and Provence from the perfect vantage point, aboard the M.V. Princesse de Provence, an elegant floating château specifically designed to cruise the Rhône and Saône rivers. Begin your journey with three days in Paris, then travel on the world-famous TGV high-speed train to Lyon, where you'll board ship. The cruise begins on the Saône, where you can enjoy beautiful Burgundy and its Cote d'Or.
