Jason Korosec sends a photo to announce his marriage to Tana Olson on March 17, 2007, on the Central Oregon coast. Bryan Hollis ’91 was a groomsman. Jason, who continues his entrepreneurial and consulting activities, teaches at Case Western Reserve University, as well as at Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala. Tana is an executive for a subsidiary of Citibank. . . . Tim Lynch, a federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C., is teaching a course on white-collar crime at the University of Virginia Law School. . . . Jodi Rubtchinsky Smith (see ’98). . . . Robyn Vallejos writes that she lives and works in Los Angeles, where she has established a career in marketing. “After several years of working for engineering firms, I made the move into architecture. Renee Jarkovsky Levine sends a photo of her two daughters, Rachel, who turned 4 in December, and 7-month-old Samantha. She married Josh Levine in 2000 and since has become the vice president of marketing for Health Net Inc. in New York City. Josh is a freelance television producer. . . . Haley Davis Melanson and her husband, Keith, announce the birth of their second son, Kiefer Vining, on September 19, 2007. Kiefer joins big brother Hayden, 2.

Jenifer Scalisi Barr sends a photo announcing that she and her husband, James, had their second child, Jack Reid, in May. Jack joins big sister Julia. Jenifer is an attorney in the human resources department for Roswell Park Cancer Institute, serving as its director of employee and labor relations. . . . Debbie-Ann Facey received her MBA from Dallas Baptist University in August 2006 and has accepted a position at FedEx-Kinkos as a principal systems analyst in the company’s global retail information technology division. She encourages old friends to e-mail her at Facey7@excite.com. . . . Marcie Etscovitz Levin, her husband, Franklin, and her daughter, Rachel, welcomed Sarah Brooke on May 9, 2007. Marcie is home with the girls and plans to return to her social work career in a few years. . . . Brandon Mathews has been appointed head of microinsurance at Zurich Financial Services Group. . . . Jeff Reznick and his wife, Allison, send a photo to announce the birth of their daughter, Danielle Halayla, in May 2007. Jeff has been named to the directorship of the Institute for the Study of Occupation and Health of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation in Bethesda, Md.

Tracie Jordan Kustra and her husband, Ante Kustra, welcomed their first son on June 17, 2007. Joseph Kristof weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 19¾ inches long. Tracie is a human resources manager at Accenture. Ante is a stocktrader and manages the family steakhouse (Joseph’s Steakhouse) in Bridgeport, Conn. They live in Stratford, Conn. . . . Kenneth Suzan, a senior associate in the Buffalo office of the Hodgson Russ law firm, has been elected vice president of the board of directors of Buffalo Arts Studio. . . . Chris Swartley writes that he has completed the development of the 125MW Cohocton Windfarm, located about 60 miles south of Rochester. The windfarm will power about 50,000 homes and will be fully operational in 2008. Chris lives in Maine with his wife, Sarah Currie, and their son, Arthur.

Dennis Tucker, publisher at Whitman Publishing in Atlanta, writes that five of his authors won 2007 Best Specialized Book awards from the Numismatic Literary Guild, and four won Extraordinary Merit awards.

Christina Valvo Hellner writes: A small contingent of founding members from UR Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team gathered for a game of pickup and a weekend of reminiscing in New York City in mid-August. Seated in the front row are Christina, Linnea Hellner, Sheila Huntley Roberts ’99. Laying down in the second row is Deb Gurell Baldwin ’97. Seated in the back row are Natasha Besch-Turner ’98, Natalie Brainerd ’97, and Susan Ziff ’99. Also in attendance on the Ultimate field, but not pictured, were Adam Besch-Turner ’96, Patrick McMenamin ’01, Wade Hellner, and Becca Perkins McMenamin. Asleep in strollers, but dreaming of Ultimate, were infants Jackson Baldwin and Paul Besch-Turner. . . . Martin Jakubiak writes that he is now double boarded by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in the specialties of internal medicine and oncology. He has also taken a new job at Veterinary Medical Specialists in Concord, Mass. . . . Andy Seguin ’00 S (MBA) sends a photo showing him and his wife, Michele Decker ’98, at mile 100 on the first day of the 28th annual Pan-Mass Challenge in August 2007. Andy notes that it has been 11 years since he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease and treated at the University’s cancer center. He writes, “To celebrate my personal achievement, and to try to raise money for cancer research, I rode 192 miles from Sturbridge, Mass., to Provincetown, Mass., over the two days and have raised $5,000 for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.” To find out more about the challenge or to find Andy’s page, visit www.pmc.org.

David Bartol sends a photo to announce his marriage to Josephine Reynoso on April 28, 2007, in Brooklyn. He writes, “I am truly blessed to have made such meaningful friendships in my UR years. I will never forget that every UR buddy I invited came to my wedding. They hailed from all over the U.S., and Markofsky (Steven Markofsky) even came from England. They left behind their children, important jobs, medical school, research, and military duty to share in a weekend of laughs, memories, and special moments. Even though I may not have spoken with a few in the past couple of years, I will never take my true friends for granted. As tradition stands, we sang the theme from All in the Family, a ritual at every wedding since our days of singing it from the dorm balconies at UR.” In attendance were Steven Markofsky, Matthew Douglas, Stephen Ott, Stephen Pacchione, Christopher Webb, Evan Freiberg, Jeffrey Suszczynski, and Brett Dreyer ’97. David and Josephine live in Brooklyn, where David is a podiatric surgeon and Josephine is a physician’s assistant in anesthesiology. . . . Amy Collins and Greg Hogan ’00S (MBA) were married on September 2, 2006, in Rochester. Alumni in attendance included Christine Garrant Lafountain ’91, Kari Sugerman Wolff ’95, Daria Marcinkowski, Leslie Kimber O’Reilly, Sheel Pandya, Jill Weimer ’97, ’06M (PhD), and Mark Hogan ’99S (MBA). . . . Bradley Gardner and his wife, Ida, welcomed their daughter, Ella Maxine, on September 26, 2007, in Los Angeles, write Bradley’s parents, Jerry ’58, ’65 (Mas) and Pat Gardner. The grandparents are looking forward to seeing their first grandchild during regular trips from their home in Atlanta to baby-sit. . . . Darrin and Jennifer Lenox Hubert ’97, announce the birth of their daughter, Claire Arlene, on March 22, 2007. She joins older sister Lily. Darrin has completed a residency at the University of Pennsylvania and is joining a private practice as a plastic surgeon in Bucks County, Pa. Jen continues her residency in diagnostic radiology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Mark Drapeau writes that he published an op-ed in the July 31, 2007, issue of the Washington Times titled “Fishing for Terrorist Starfish,” in which he discusses international terrorism and other decentralized threats to national security using a biological metaphor of the starfish and the spider. With Bryan Mignone of the Brookings Institution, Mark also published an essay about climate, culture, and stability in the June 15, 2007, issue of the journal Science. Mark is an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. . . . Kelly Henry sends a photo from her wedding to Jeffrey Geiser on July 7, 2007, in Salem, Mass. Julia Barzyk has been awarded a three-year postdoctoral fellowship by the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, a U.S. Department of Energy unit that conducts research on health risks from environmental and occupational hazards. Her work will be done at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency campus in Research Triangle Park, N.C. . . . Lindsay Greene Koenig sends a photo of her with Jodi Rubtchinsky Smith ’90 at an Association of Bridal Consultants meeting. Lindsay writes that her ForeverGreenEvents business, which plans social, corporate, and nonprofit events, is doing increasingly well; she has doubled her number of wedding clients over the last year. At the meeting, Jodi, the owner of the etiquette consulting firm Mannersmith, offered tips and guidelines for business and social situations, including weddings. . . . Anni McDonough married Tommy Zukauskas on October 5, 2007, in Dorchester, Mass.
