(Photo: Lewis Jacobs/NBC)NATIONAL STAGE: Rochester’s longest-running a cappella group has been lighting up the stage on the NBC reality competition The Sing-Off this fall, advancing to become one of seven remaining competitors as of the Oct. 31 episode. Judges Sara Bareilles, Ben Folds, and Shawn Stockman have had high praise for the YellowJackets’ musicianship, camaraderie, and social outreach—as exemplified by the group’s musical exchange with a village in Kenya—but the group’s final place on the show was yet to be determined as this issue went to the printer.
