Philip Bonanni (MD), ’71M (Res) was awarded the Albert David Kaiser medal from the Rochester Academy of Medicine for distinguished services in medicine and for the community. He writes: “It’s the highest award the academy bestows annually on a local physician. The medal inscription reads: ‘Outstanding clinician, gifted teacher, and talented physician leader. Role model for compassionate care and champion of “the story of the patient.” I have the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry to thank for starting me on this journey. Next to having married my wife, Anita Massafra Bonanni ’71W (Mas)—next year it’ll be 50 years—it was a life-molding decision to come here for education and training in 1960.”
