Overview

The University of Rochester has several graduate housing options available for students and their families in any University graduate program. University housing is limited and cannot be guaranteed for all those admitted into graduate programs at the University of Rochester.

Our communities encourage our residents and their families to become involved and celebrate the unique contributions each person can bring to this living and learning environment. There are many ways to participate—from potluck dinners to picnics, outings (such as apple picking) to biking, art classes to community gardening—with something for everyone at the level they wish to participate.

Renter's Insurance

Students’ personal property brought to the University is not covered for damage or loss by the University’s insurance. We strongly suggest you review your family’s homeowner’s insurance to determine what is covered by that policy or can be covered with a rider to that policy. Specifically review theft of your property because many policies may cover damage but not loss.

The University has also identified additional sources that provide insurance coverage for residence hall students. While we cannot endorse these companies, we do recommend you review all the options and obtain coverage in case your property is damaged or lost.

National Student Services, Inc. is another option and offers several different insurance plans for students living on campus.
