At Rochester:
- Academic All-American and champion UR soccer player
- Was a Fulbright Scholar from the University of Iceland as a junior transfer student
- Led the team in goals (12), assists (5) and points (17) in 1986
- As a senior, the team set the UR record for most wins in a season, finishing 7th in the New York State DIII Poll and 18th in the NCAA DIII poll
- Personally scored six game-clinching goals
- Twice-chosen All-State, All-Region and All-Rochester Area All-Star
- 4 time Dean's List scholar
- Graduated in with a BS in applied mathematics and computer science.
Post-Graduate:
- Earned his MS in 1992 and his PhD in 1995 in computer science, at the University of California at Santa Barbara
- Worked in the Bell Labs (1995-2000)
- Adjunct Professor at Columbia University (1999-2000)
- Professor and Dean of Computer Science and Engineering at Reykjavíkíkík University in Iceland (2001-2007)
- CEO and co-founder of Thule Investments in 2004
