Intramural Sports

Intramural sports are organized programs that allow the students, faculty, and staff of the University to participate in team, dual, and individual sport activities. Intramurals provide the opportunity for physical activity and fellowship while promoting wellness and the use of leisure time. Everyone who participates in intramural sports is required to follow our sportsmanship code.

Before competing, please read and review the intramural policies and procedures.

Team types:

  • Open (O): Can have any combination of men/women playing
  • CoRec (C): Must have minimum of two women on field/court during game
  • Women league (W): Women’s only league
  • A league (A): Highly competitive league

Eligible to Participate

To participate, you must have a valid University of Rochester ID card, be a full-time undergraduate or graduate students or an R Club (over the age of 22). Varsity athletes cannot participate in their particular sport.

You must be part of a team in order to participate. Each team must have at least five members and all members should meet the eligibility requirements listed. 

How to Sign Up for an Intramural Team

To sign up for an intramural team, you should:

  1. Click on the sport you are interested in, at the top will be day of play which will be your league. This info is needed in the document in step 2.
  2. Fill out information at this Link
  3. Be sure to put person of contact on this form.  Any forms that are not completed, will not be considered for league play.
  4. Confirmation emails will be sent from the IM office.

Captains’ Meeting

All captains' meetings will be done via Zoom. Zoom confirmations will be sent out to the point of contact listed on Roster sheet.
