Overview

We can't wait to welcome you to campus! To make arrival and move-in as smooth as possible, you will be need to arrive on one of two arrival days. You are required to arrive on campus or move into on-campus housing on the day you selected when you signed up for a move-in time, unless you are a participant in an approved UR early arrival program (see below).

Detailed arrival and move-in instructions for students beginning their studies in August 2026 will be available in early summer 2026.

Fall arrival day components

Your arrival day will consist of three required steps. You'll pick up your campus ID card, your room key, welcome items, and your textbooks and course materials. If your family members are with you, they can also attend Welcome Week check-in to pick up their own welcome item.

Required if you are living on campus
Pick up your room key and move your belongings into your new home away from home.

Welcome Week check-in

Required for all students
Pick up your campus ID card, welcome items, and mailbox information; families can check in here, too!

UR Essentials textbook pick-up

Required for all students
If you confirmed your course materials after registering for classes through your UR Essentials portal, your textbooks will be available to pick up from the University Bookstore in College Town.
