The second step in your transition to the University of Rochester after completing the Rochester Ready program is Welcome Week. Planned specifically for incoming transfer students by your Orientation Leaders and the Office of Orientation and First-Year Programs, these events occur directly before classes begin in both the fall and spring semesters.
Welcome Week is designed with opportunities for you to build your Rochester connections, learn about how to make the most of your time on campus, and choose the next steps of your Rochester experience. Welcome Week schedules are typically available one month before the first day of the program. Registration will be required.
Travel and Accommodations
We know that planning travel can be overwhelming, especially if you're traveling to Rochester from a great distance. Check out the Travel page for an overview of transportation options and a list of local accommodations, including many with University of Rochester discounts.
Disability Accommodation Requests
If you anticipate needing any disability accommodation(s) during Welcome Week, please complete the Accommodation Request Form using the button below as soon as possible. In all situations, a good faith effort (up until the time of the event) will be made to provide accommodations.
As COVID-19 protocols are updated to match the latest CDC and New York State guidelines, the University's COVID-19 Resource Center is your best source of the latest information for campus visitors. Make sure to review the website for updated information before coming to campus to make sure you are ready to fully participate in Welcome Week.
