ALUMNI SET NEW RECORD FOR REUNION GIVINGAlumni from the 19 classes taking part in Reunion 2000 have pledged a record $8 million to the University. The total averages out to a 388 percent increase per graduate over prior giving levels. "Combined with our memorable Sesquicentennial Weekend, Reunion 2000 class giving broke all previous records, raising more than $8 million from over 3,300 donors," said Gwen Meltzer Greene '65, co-chair of the 35th Reunion. "The real story, though, is in the new level of alumni energy and loyalty, the desire of everyone to reconnect with the great University they knew and loved in the 1900s. Indeed, we all were enriched by 'remembering the past, and imagining the future.' "Thanks to all of you who were not only part of the Reunion 2000 Campaign, but who also represent the future of our great University. Meliora!" Reunion 2000 classes ensured the success of the Robert B. Goergen Athletic Center campaign, contributing nearly $1.5 million in the final, critical months of the two-year, $15 million effort. Reunion classes also established more than 10 new class and individual scholarship funds and supported a variety of other important initiatives in the College.
