Bruce Pauley (PhD) sends an update. He and his wife, Marianne Utz Pauley ’63, returned to Rochester in 2013 to attend Marianne’s 50th class reunion. Bruce writes: “We were impressed with how much the U of R campus has changed over the years. In fact, we were so impressed that we both made major contributions to scholarship funds. I have described my experiences as a grad student at the U of R, as well as my good fortune in meeting my wife there, in my autobiography, Pioneering History on Two Continents. It was just published by Potomac Books, an imprint of the University of Nebraska Press. Although my years at Rochester were sometimes grueling, my overall experience was positive and helped lead to my 42-year career as a historian. This included the publication of six books and over 20 articles. I was Arthur May’s last grad student at the U of R; he was especially critical in my receiving a Fulbright for study in Graz, Austria.”
