Starting out in research comes with plenty of questions, surprises, and “wait… what do I do now?” moments. The good news: you don’t have to have it all figured out. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the personal qualities that help you thrive as a responsible researcher and work through real ethical dilemmas drawn from the Dilemma Game. Together, we’ll examine practical decision-making strategies and discuss how to navigate common gray areas in research practice, including the responsible use of AI in scholarly publishing.

Learning outcomes: By attending this session, you’ll be able to:

    • Recognize the personal strengths and habits that help you build honest, trustworthy research from the start.
    • Make thoughtful, confident decisions when facing ethical dilemmas in your research.
    • Develop awareness of how to use AI responsibly in scholarly publishing.

This workshop uses materials adapted from the Embassy of Good Science.
