Our mission
The University of Rochester prides itself on being a leader—locally, nationally, and worldwide. From research to culture, health care to the arts, and in all of our educational endeavors, the University of Rochester pushes our local and global communities forward.
Tying into to the University’s motto of Meliora—or “ever better”—the provost upholds a standard of excellence for our degree programs and research efforts. Overseeing many offices, the provost enables academic success for both faculty and students. The offices of the provost also serve to solidify Rochester’s role as a preeminent research university.
