School of Record Transcript for IES Students/Alumni

The University of Rochester serves as the school of record for students who have attended a study abroad program through the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) program.

A University may not accept IES Abroad credit directly from IES and may require a student to obtain credit from an accredited University within the United States. A student is required to check with their home school if they are unsure which credit is accepted.

If your institution requires a school of record transcript from a United States accredited institution then a student will need a school of record transcript from the University of Rochester.

If you need more information or have a question, please contact the Office of the University Registrar via email registrar@rochester.edu or IES directly.

How to Request

Following grades being posted, a transcript is produced and sent to the address of the home school university previously provided to IES. You will receive a communication when it is sent out including your University of Rochester ID Number. This information will allow you to create an account within the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to request any additional transcripts. Information for this process can be found under Transcript Requests.

Fees

There is an administrative fee paid directly to IES, which includes the cost for ONE transcript.

Transcript Mailing Process

IES grades are posted within six to eight weeks of the end of term. Once your financial account is clear, your official IES Abroad transcript will be sent directly to the University of Rochester for processing, which takes approximately two weeks. Your student record will then be created and processed by the Office of the University Registrar and the school of record transcript will be mailed to the home school university within six (6) weeks.
