International Baccalaureate

Students who have completed one or more higher-level International Baccalaureate (IB) courses in disciplines offered at the University of Rochester may be eligible for transfer credit or advanced placement. No credit is granted for standard level exams.

English6+Award four hours of elective English credit, not for major, after completion of an English literature course with a grade of C or better.

6Placement by department into SP 152. Award credit for SP 151 upon completion of SP 152 with a grade of "B+" or better.
7Placement by department into SP 200. Award credit for SP 151 and SP 152 upon completion of SP 200 with a grade of "B+" or better.
Geography5+Award for EES 101. Place into EES 201.
Global Politics5+Award four credit hours of elective credit in international relations. Can be used toward a major in international relations or political science.
History6+Award maximum of four hours of history elective credit.
Latin5+Award credit for LAT 102.
Mathematics4+Place into MTH 162. Award credit for MTH 161 after completion of MTH 162 with a grade of C or better.
