Effective study skills are instrumental to students’ academic success here at Rochester. The Learning Center is available to help students with all of their study needs, whether it’s learning how to develop these skills, receiving coaching on how to improve your study skill or even just having a quiet place to study effectively.

The Learning Center has several programs, services, and resources to help students improve their ability to study successfully:

Academic Success Coaching: Students can either work one-on-one with a coach to improve academic performance, or take CASC 142:Strategies for Academic Success, a one-credit course focused on improving study skills.

Study Zone: This is a quiet, low-distraction place to work. Students commit to spending at least three hours per week in the Study Zone and benefit from focus and accountability in their studying.

Study GroupsStudy Groups are course-specific collaborative study sessions led by a near-peer who recently completed the course. These groups provide an opportunity to connect with other students in your courses who are also motivated to study consistently each week.

Study Skills Guide to Mastering Remote Learning: This resource gives students the tools they need to take control of their remote learning.
