There are many ways to get involved this year

shilpaHey, Yellowjackets!

Hope you had a great summer! The SA sure did! In case you don’t know, the Students’ Association (SA) comprises elected and appointed undergraduate students who work on enhancing our campus. We represent you and advocate for positive changes that you want and we’ve been hard at work all summer. For instance, look out for a new Grab & Go lunch program this fall, brought to you by the SA and Dining Services.

But this summer was just the start. We have a whole year together to make the rest of our ideas real and to hear yours. This year, the SA is excited to launch our 5K Challenge, to boost Rochester’s spirit through celebration of our traditions, and to develop student-faculty interaction grants.

For more information on our plan, visit The Hive at www.sa.rochester.edu or www.shilpaandgreg.com/initiatives.

However, these plans mean nothing without your support and involvement. Vice-president Greg
Corrado and I are also excited to launch a new program in which you can sit down with us one-on-
one over lunch to talk about your Rochester experience and any concerns that you may have.

If you like what you hear and want to get involved, come to the aptly named “Get Involved
Night” on Sept. 1 to find out more about the SA and what we do. If you think you have even
better ideas, then definitely check out Get Involved Night! The SA would love to have you. Also, make sure you stop by the Fall Activities Fair on Sept. 8 during Yellowjacket Weekend to learn about how you can join more than 200 student-run organizations. Whether it’s a dance group, an undergraduate academic council, or a club sport, there is something for everyone! Check them all out at http://ccc.rochester.edu.

See you soon!
