Back to: Wilson Day '99

August 28, 1999:
Wilson Day U.S.A.

Wilson Day is spreading. Rochester's traditional day of service went cross country this year as alumni volunteers in Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington inaugurated Wilson Day U.S.A.

Reports Amy Lynch '95W (MS), volunteer coordinator for the day, a great time was had by all--to the extent that alumni workers recruited during the daylong session are already at work planning next year's encore.

Local coordinators and their community service projects for the first Wilson Day U.S.A. were these:

Chicago, Lauren Herko '96, KaBOOM! Playground Project; Washington, Steve Green '96, Hearts & Hammers; San Francisco, Harriette Grooh '71, Habitat for Humanity; and Atlanta, Celena Evans '97, Atlanta AIDS Walk.
