FACULTY/ADMINISTRATION

Roger D. Lathan, vice president emeritus, honorary life trustee, and longtime supporter of the University, died April 8 after a long illness. He was 69.

Lathan '54 served under five of the University's nine presidents and was significantly involved in three major fundraising campaigns. In January, the trustees established an endowed scholarship fund for undergraduates named for Lathan and his wife, Joan.

The University will hold a memorial service in his honor at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, at the start of Meliora Weekend. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Discovery Fund of the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University, and the Roger and Joan Lathan Scholarship Fund-both c/o the Gift Office, Box 270032, University of Rochester, 30 Wallis Hall, Rochester, NY 14627-0032-and the Rochester Rotary Charitable Trust, 125 E. Main Street, Rochester, NY 14604.
