Scott Birnbaum ’82 (MS) writes to say
he is president and managing director of Ameriquest Capital Group, a private
equity firm in New York City. He lives in Livingston, N.J., with his wife,
Barbara Barasky Birnbaum, and his two sons, Eric, 14, and Steven, 10.

Bob Glowacky ’85M (MS) writes to say that
he and his wife, Janney Wilson, are pleased to announce the birth of their
second child, William Wilson Glowacky, on November 11, 2002. “Big sister
Alexandra, 4, is thrilled and couldn’t be happier with the family’s
newest edition.” The family lives in Welles-ley, Mass., and are happily
in touch with many of their fellow Rochester alums, Bob says. . . . Hungry
man Jim Leff writes to describe his experiences
as the connoisseur behind the Web site Chowhound.com,
a guide for fans of food. He is author of several books, the latest of which
is The Eclectic Gourmet Guide to Greater New York City: The Undiscovered
World of Hyperdelicious Offbeat Eating in All Five Boroughs. . . . Carol
Burney Lewis and her husband, Jim, announce the birth of their son, Joshua
Bruce, on March 8.

Robin Buchholz and Michael Grant were married
in March. . . . Norman Guadagno has been named vice president of marketing
at Qpass, a business systems software firm. He joined the company in January
2001. . . . Kathy Kriese writes to say she has been elected to the board of
directors of nonprofit group AchieveKids, which assists children with emotional
development disorders. Kathy is employed by RSA Security in San Mateo, Calif.
. . . Michael Lyle has been named partner in the litigation department of
Weil, Gotshal & Manges. . . . “We are thrilled to announce the arrival
of our fourth child, Abigail Sang-Ah Wilson,” writes Nancy DeKimpe Wilson.
“Abigail was born in March 2002 in Korea; she joined our family in August.
Her three older siblings adore her (as do her parents!).” Nancy also
writes that they moved to New Hampshire last September and are “enjoying
the beautiful area.” . . . Thales Optem, designer and manufacturer of
optical systems has named J. Robert Zinter ’87 (MS) director of technology
and product development.

Michael Cassidy and his wife, Paula, announce the birth of their second child,
Ian, on July 20, 2002. Ian joins his sister, Chloe, 2.

Robert Colon has been appointed as head of the
New York attorney general’s regional office in Rochester. . . . Philippe
Erwin is vice president of interactive entertainment for Warner Bros.
Consumer Products. . . . Carrie Freitag appeared
in a February episode of Lifetime Television’s Final Justice,
which told the story of her brother, William, who was murdered by a childhood
friend. Carrie has also written a book on the subject: Aftermath: In the
Wake of Murder. . . . Kelly Gridley was
promoted to assistant vice president of First Niagara Bank in Auburn, N.Y.,
where she also resides. . . . Mary Reed McCall
has published her third medieval romance, The Crimson Lady. . . .
Brian Sweeney writes, “My wife, Lynn, and I added No. 4 to the fold
late last year when our first son, William, was born. The brood now consists
of AnnaLynn, 8; Taryn, 7; Catherine, 5; and William, 1. We all look forward
to seeing everyone this fall at our 15th reunion! I’m not in the Reserves
so I wasn’t called up, but I’m still with GE in an IT leadership
role. If you’re in the East Granby, Conn., area, give me a call!”

CPAC Inc. has announced the appointment of attorney Stephen
Carl to its board of directors. Stephen is CEO of Clover Capital Management
in Pittsford, N.Y. . . . Martin Duclos is senior
medical partner at the West Mifflin Primary Care Center near Pittsburgh. He
and his wife, Anna Boettcher, who recently celebrated their ninth wedding
anniversary, have three children: Jeffrey Christian, 5; Matthew Andrew, 3;
and Abigail Rose, 1. . . . Douglas Gerhardt
and Joan Fischer Gerhardt write that they “proudly
announce the birth of Zachary Reuben on September 27, 2002. He looks just
like big brother Mitchell, now 3 1/2. We can’t wait to get them into
University attire!” Joan returned to work as vice president of Behan
Communications, a public affairs firm in Glens Falls, N.Y. Douglas will be
joining the New York State Council of School Superintendents as assistant
director of legislative counsel. They live in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
