FAME: Ten former athletes and an alumna known
as “Rochester’s First Lady in Sports” were inducted
into the Hall of Fame of the Department of Athletics and Recreation during
the College’s Meliora Weekend celebration last October. The new
class includes Jean Cardinale Giambrone ’42, a former writer for
the Rochester Times-Union who became the first woman reporter
granted full press credentials to cover the Masters golf tournament.
The 2004 inductees include (back row, left to right) Howard Pratt ’60,

Hoffman ’55 (soccer and basketball), George Hole ’60 (football
