Laurie Griesinger ’04M (MPH) and Jon Ewing
were married on October 2, 2004, in Binghamton, N.Y. Laurie writes, “Julie
Chen was a bridesmaid, and fellow alumni David
Nagel ’01, Marissa Scalia ’01,
Beth Slotman ’99, and Marianne
Witgert ’01 joined the festivities.” Laurie and Jon live
in Chicago. . . . Melinda Kline has joined the
Cleveland law firm Baker & Hostetler as an associate. . . . Joseph
Lanning’s nonprofit World Education Fund has sponsored 30 one-year
scholarships for AIDS orphans from Africa since he founded the organization
in 1999. Joseph is assistant director of admissions at Rochester and his wife,
Alexis Spilman Lanning, is a doctoral student
in optics. . . . Joshua Woodard has joined the
Peace Corps. He will work as a community-based organizational development volunteer
in Thailand.
2001
Scott Goldman married Michelle Levitt on July
4, 2004, in Providence, R.I. They live in Newton, Mass. . . . Melissa
Kucinski and Daniel Berlin announce their
engagement. A June 2006 wedding is planned. . . . David
Nagel and Angela Zaccari were married on October 16, 2004, in Rochester.
David is a process development technician at Bausch & Lomb, and Angela is
a clinical staff pharmacist at the Medical Center. . . . Matthew
Samuelson and Meredith Kaplan were married on December 18, 2004. They
both are studying for master’s degrees at Brooklyn College. Matthew teaches
English at Abraham Lincoln Middle School in Brooklyn, where he also is a debate
coach.
2002
Megan Sesma ’02E was a soloist with the
U.S. Coast Guard Chamber Players in the concert series New Horizons III: Music
for Brass and Harp last February. . . . Jonathan Watson
’03 (MS) and Tracy Collier were married on July 24, 2004, in Pultneyville,
N.Y. Jonathan works at Optimax Systems in Ontario, N.Y., and Tracy is a physical
education teacher at Ontario Primary School.
2004
Randy Erb was a 2004 finalist in the undergraduate
category of the Collegiate Inventors Competition. His invention, an armband
that uses ultrasound to help visually impaired people detect and avoid obstacles
in their path, was his senior project at Rochester. Randy is an electrical engineer
in Denver.
