Yellowjackets Tee Up for Spring Season
With four top-five finishes in five outings last fall, the men’s golf
team heads into the NCAA Division III spring season with a Top 25 ranking, according
to the national computer rating service Golfstat.
The Yellowjackets averaged a 302.1 team score in five fall tournaments in the
first half of the 2005–06 season. Head-to-head, Rochester was 44–16–1
against all schools and 36–11 against Division III opponents.
Stephen Goodridge ’08, the 2005 Division III Freshman of the Year, led
the team with a 72.4 average.
Coach Rich Johnson says Rochester’s scoring average and consistency provide
encouraging signs for the spring, when the team will try for a third straight
NCAA championship appearance.
The spring season opens April 1 and 2 with the Peter C. Rossin Memorial Classic
hosted by Washington & Jefferson.
