Sanford Britt has received the National Ground Water Association’s 2006 Equipment Design Award. His Snap Sampler allows a sample to be taken from a well without exposing it to outside contaminants, which improves safety and lowers cost. Sanford is principal hydrogeologist with ProHydro in Fairport, N.Y. . . . Robert and Nadine Muoio May write to say they live in Portland, Ore., with their 6-year-old son, Charlie, and celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. They send a photo of their family, and write that they spent two weeks sailing the British Virgin Islands with college friend Kata Ritenberg ’91, who lives in Seattle. Nadine is the owner of a consulting firm, and Robert is a partner with the Portland law firm Smith Freed & Eberhard. . . . Ted Whitten married Sonya Hals on October 7, 2006, in Connecticut. Philip Nel ’92 sent a photo from the wedding. He’s on the right, with classmate Daren Fonda ’92 on the left and Ted in the middle.

Jody Levison-Johnson, a senior associate of service quality and system development at Coordinated Care Services and a co-principal investigator at Monroe County ACCESS, a federal grant to improve area child and family services, was named one of the Rochester Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” business leaders for 2006. . . . Kelley Szalkowski-Lovelace has published Ready, Set, Go . . . Organic! (KelleyGreenWorks Publishing), a book designed to make the concept of organic food understandable and fun for young readers and to give parents and educators tools to teach children about a healthier and greener lifestyle.

Amy Siegal Frishberg and her husband, Brad, have moved to Scarsdale, N.Y., with their four children. “We’re really enjoying it,” she writes. . . . Philip Nel writes that he has published The Annotated Cat: Under the Hats of Seuss and His Cats (Random House), which includes the complete The Cat in the Hat (1957) and The Cat in the Hat Comes Back (1958) with Philip’s introduction and annotations; two semifictional accounts by Dr. Seuss on the writing of The Cat in the Hat; and photographs of draft material, influences, cartoons, and more. . . . Amy Best O’Brien and her husband, Dan, send a photo to announce the arrival of their twin daughters, Margaret Eileen and Kaitlyn Frances, on September 13, 2006.

Jennifer Czekaj Anderson and her husband, Ken, announce the birth of their son, Jeremiah Kurt, on August 25, 2005. He joins brother Joshua, 4. The family lives in Las Vegas.

Jason Angerosa (see ’95). . . . Bradley Schwab has been named vice president of strategic planning at bioMETRX. . . . Jai Pathak sends a photo and news of his December 17, 2006, wedding. He married Rashmi Agarwal in Washington, D.C., with several Rochester alumni in attendance: Evan King ’94 (back row, third from right), Judith Gendler Epstein ’94, Jonathan Epstein ’93, and Sharon Majchrzak ’94 (seated at the table, from the right). Paul and Tanya Giang Sargent send a photo of their family to announce the birth of their third child, Maxwell Victor, on September 15, 2006. Max joins older brother Joshua, 7, and sister, Gwen, 5. . . . Jason Scally sends a photo to announce that he and wife, Donna, welcomed their first child, Patrick Joseph (P.J.), on July 16, 2006. “I’m currently managing editor (and photographer) at Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly, based in Boston, and I’m living in Walpole, Mass.,” he writes. “I keep in touch with a lot of the other Chi Phi alums in the Boston area, but would love to hear from other friends (e-mail: jmscally@gmail.com).” . . . Nick Sivakumaran sends a photo of his wedding to Renita Chandra in April 2006 in Los Angeles. Lauren Herko sends a photo from her wedding to Mohammed Hadi in New York City. In attendance were Christa Tinari, Eric Feinberg ’95 and his wife, Erica, and Joe Blatt ’95 and his wife, Kiyon. . . . John Tofik Karam is the author of Another Arabesque: Syrian-Lebanese Ethnicity in Neoliberal Brazil (Temple University Press), the first full-length book in English to focus on the estimated 7 million Arabs in Brazil. The book explores Syrian-Lebanese ethnicity in Brazil. John is an assistant professor in the Latin American and Latino Studies Program at DePaul University. . . . Michael ’95 and Jennifer Shweky Kornbluth welcomed their first child, Simone Paige, on July 17, 2006. They live in Durham, N.C., where Michael is an attorney at the Kornbluth Law Firm and Jennifer is an environmental scientist. . . . Adam Meirowitz ’97 (MS) is a co-author of Political Game Theory: An Introduction (Cambridge University Press). Adam is an associate professor of politics at Princeton. . . . Christa Tinari founded an educational consulting practice focusing on violence prevention, conflict-resolution education, and social and emotional learning. Lauren Makar Haley joined the health sciences section of the law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo in Washington, D.C. Lauren was formerly a health insurance specialist at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. . . . Huey Hsiao has joined the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University as the assistant director of student services for the M.B.A and M.S. programs. . . . Carrie Rosen was named a 2006 Pennsylvania “Rising Star” by Law & Politics. She is an attorney with Cozen O’Connor in Philadelphia.

Karrie Goldstein and her husband, Michael, announce the birth of their first daughter, Hallie Nicole, on September 17, 2006.

1999

Kurt and Terisa Foster Flick welcomed their first child, Tobias Louis, on September 17, 2006. Terisa is a practicing pediatrician in southern Maryland and Kurt is an analyst at the University of Maryland, College Park. They live in University Park, Md.
