1990

Adam Konowe writes that he has been promoted from director to vice president of public relations at Sullivan Higdon & Sink in McLean, Va., where he represents an array of aviation, aerospace, and defense companies. He continues to teach PR as a member of the adjunct faculty at his graduate alma mater, American University in Washington, D.C. In his spare time, he contributes in a variety of ways to live television and community theater productions. . . . Razak Hossain ’95 (PhD) writes to announce the publication of his book, High Performance ASIC Design: Using Synthesizable Domino Logic in an ASIC Flow. Razak is a senior principal engineer at STMicroelectronics Inc.

Miriam Van de Sype ’93 S (MBA) has been named an advisor at My Health Inc., a developer of software to monitor patients with chronic diseases.

1995

Kavita Daiya writes to share news of the publication of her first book, Violent Belongings: Partition, Gender and National Culture in Postcolonial India (Temple University Press). Kavita is an associate professor of English at George Washington University. She invites people to find out more information at www.1947partition.org. . . . Alejandro and Alison Folkman Diez ’97 send a photo announcing the birth of their son, Javier, in March 2008. In June the family moved to Indianapolis, where Alejandro is a nephrology fellow at Indiana University’s school of medicine. . . . Andrew Hopkins ’96 S (MBA) and Cynthia Rapp ’96, ’97 (MS) report that their first child, Beatrix Ann Hopkins, was born in early July. The family moved from London to Indianapolis in 2007.

Elizabeth Chernack sends a photo announcing her marriage to David Greenstein in September 2008. A former reporter at WHEC in Rochester, Elizabeth moved to Boston and has been working on media for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She and her husband are now on an untraditional honeymoon, traveling around the world for one year. Stacy Spector Gerstenfeld and her husband, Dave, send a photo announcing the birth of their son, Alex Steven, who was born in January 2008. . . . Joe has taken a job as dean of students and director of residential life at Marianapolis Preparatory School. Nicole is enjoying her time at home with their three children and volunteering at their new elementary school. They love the New England area, they write.
