Academic Affairs Committee

Benefits Committee

The Faculty Benefits Committee monitors the benefits package available to faculty and communicates these benefits to faculty. The committee’s work addresses three main parts of the faculty benefits package — health care, tuition and retirement — and seeks to ensure that these are comprehensive and competitive.

Budget Committee

The Faculty Budget Committee both advices the University in matters pertaining to the University’s budget, as well as facilitates two-way communication between the faculty and the administration on budgetary issues.

Ethical Investment Advisory Committee

The Ethical Investment Advisory Committee (EIAC) exists in an advisory role, and considers a wide range of ethical considerations pertaining to University investments. Read the Ethical Investment Advisory Committee charge for more information.

Research Policy Committee

The Faculty Research Policy Committee serves as a conduit and focal point for faculty discussions with the administration regarding policies that govern research at the University and will serve as an advisory body to the administration on such policies.

The members of the committee consist of nine faculty members eligible to vote for the Faculty Senate, and members of the administration selected by the Senior Vice President for Research who will serve ex officio. Committee membership should include at least one member of each academic unit (SAS, Hajim, SMD, SON, Warner, Simon, Eastman), unless the current Senate Executive Committee members from a particular school assert that there is no need for representation from the school.

University Committee on Tenure and Privileges

The University Committee on Tenure and Privileges is charged with:

  • Reviewing all regulations concerning faculty tenure and privileges and advise the President of the University on such regulations
  • Establishing, with the consent of the Board of Trustees, standing procedures governing the manner of revocation of a faculty member's tenure or privileges for cause
  • Informing the senate of all regulations and practices respecting tenure and privileges, in all parts of the University, as they become established or changed

Inclusive Faculty Policies Committee

The Inclusive Faculty Policies Committee is an ad hoc committee of the faculty Senate. It was created to advise the senate, its executive committee, and the UCTP on faculty policies that affect faculty wo are not in tenure eligible positions.
