Elections
Participation in the Faculty Senate begins with a fair, transparent election process that ensures the senate truly reflects the diversity and interests of the University’s faculty.
Who Can Run?
Eligible candidates include full-time faculty members holding the ranks of assistant, associate, or full professor. Those currently serving in high administrative roles, such as president, provost, or dean, are not eligible.
How Are Elections Conducted?
Each year, the Committee on Elections oversees the nomination and ballot process:
- Faculty may nominate peers or themselves during the annual cycle.
- A secure ballot is distributed, guaranteeing that faculty across all schools and colleges have an equal opportunity to vote.
- Election results determine the composition of the Faculty Senate, with seats allocated to ensure broad disciplinary and school representation.
