Media Coaching

When the opportunity comes to meet with the media, our media coaching service for faculty, staff, and students can help you share your message more effectively and more comfortably.

Whether you will discuss your own research or comment on current events, the veteran journalists in our department can help you prepare for many types of interview situations, including:

  • TV, radio, or print interviews
  • Talk shows
  • News conferences
  • Background briefings

Our coaches will help you craft your message, improve your delivery, and maintain control of the interview. Should you look at the camera? What’s the best way to handle inappropriate questions? How can you make your points memorable? Those questions and more will be addressed in private sessions tailored to your individual needs.

Our coaching sessions take place in the University’s broadcast studio located in Carol G. Simon Hall.

If you would like to schedule a media coaching session, e-mail or call Valerie Alhart or Peter Iglinski  in University Communications at 275-4118.
