UR Campus Endorsement for Rhodes, Marshall, and Mitchell Scholarships

Please be advised that before we nominate you or endorse your candidacy for a fellowship competition, we will perform a conduct and academic honesty check to confirm that you are in good disciplinary and academic standing.

All deadlines are 11:59 pm unless otherwise noted.

Rhodes & Mitchell

  • Submit résumé & have initial meeting w/ Director of Fellowships by spring of application year to discuss potential candidacy.
  • Both the Prospective Applicant Form and the Fellowships Preliminary Questionnaire (FPQ) due in spring/early summer (but no later than July 1, 2020), followed by meeting with Director of Fellowships to discuss application preparation.
  • July - August: Schedule follow-up meeting(s) to discuss application strategy and progress.
  • Upload a complete, polished official scholarship application via our secure online portal:  due by August 24, 2020 (for Mitchell: do not complete online submission before campus interview). Campus interview may be forfeited if deadline not met.
  • Have recommendation letters submitted  via our secure online form from each referee: due by August 31, 2020. Inform recommenders that letters are needed for the campus committee review/nomination process. 
    *Recommendation letter files should be named according to this format:

    Student Last Name_Fellowship Name Rec_Recommender Last Name (e.g., Smith_Fulbright Rec_Jones)

  • Campus nomination interview in early September; exact date TBD.
  • If nominated, complete, finalized application submitted online and via our secure online portal:Mitchell due Monday,September 21, 2020; Rhodes due Sunday, October 4, 2020. 

Marshall

  • Submit résumé & have initial meeting w/ Director of Fellowships by spring of application year to discuss potential candidacy.
  • Submit Fellowships Preliminary Questionnaire in spring/early summer (but no later than
    July 1, 2020)    , followed by meeting with Director of Fellowships to discuss application preparation.
  • Submit initial draft of online application (w/essays) through Embark online application system by July 27, 2020, then contact Fellowships Office to schedule meeting with Director of Fellowships.
  • Resubmit complete, revised application through Embark online application system: due by August 24, 2020 for internal review committee. Campus interview may be forfeited if deadline not met.
  • Have all recommendation letters submitted through Embark online application system: due by August 31, 2020 for internal review committee. Inform recommenders that letters are needed for the campus committee review/nomination process.
    *Recommendation letter files should be named according to this format:

    Student Last Name_Fellowship Name Rec_Recommender Last Name (e.g., Smith_Fulbright Rec_Jones)

  • Campus nomination interview in early September; exact date TBD.
