- Inspired, advised, mentored, supported, and raised funds for the UR Rowing program
- Became a UR Administrator in 1963
- Became Vice President of Business Affairs and Associate Treasurer
- He retired as the Senior Executive of Public Affairs in 1989
- He competed in the world’s largest regatta at age 87 and is still rowing
- The George M. Angle Trophy is presented annually to the Men’s Open Eight Champion
- Passed away in December, 2016
