- Instrumental in forming the women's volleyball team in 1972

- Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a baccalaureate degree in Biology in 1975

- Associate Professor in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at the University of Minnesota
- Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Minnesota in 1984-1985
- Orthopaedic consultant to the women's varsity teams at University of Minnesota since 1987
- Medical Director of Men's and Women's Varsity Athletics at the University of Minnesota since 1990
- Team Physician for the USA Women's Ice Hockey Team at the 1992 and 1994 World Games
- A member of the Big 10 Medical Committee (since 1989) and a representative on the NCAA Medical Safeguards Committee since 1991-97
- Member President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports (1994-2000)
