At Rochester:
- Played three years of varsity baseball and spent his senior season as the interim head coach, following David Ocorr
- Also played two seasons of varsity football and one year of freshman football
- Three years as a catcher for the baseball team
- Finished 28th in batting average in the nation (.388) vs. University Level (predecessor of Division I) competition in 1967
- Team captain as a junior and winner of team award for leadership
- Was an Alumni Memorial Scholarship Winner and a New York State Regents Scholarship Winner
- Graduated from the University with a B.A. in 1969
Post-Graduate:
- Earned an M.S. from SUNY Brockport in 1979
- Has worked in a variety of roles and responsibilities for the Rochester City School District since graduating from the University; teacher of special education, 1969-79; Coordinating Administrator of Special Education, 1979-90; Vice Principal os PS #12, 1990-96; Nominated as Administrator of the Year, 1994-95; Principal of the World of Inquiry School #58; Named Rochester's Administrator of the Year, 1998-99
