At Rochester:

  • Played three years of varsity baseball and spent his senior season as the interim head coach, following David Ocorr
  • Also played two seasons of varsity football and one year of freshman football
  • Three years as a catcher for the baseball team
  • Finished 28th in batting average in the nation (.388) vs. University Level (predecessor of Division I) competition in 1967
  • Team captain as a junior and winner of team award for leadership
  • Was an Alumni Memorial Scholarship Winner and a New York State Regents Scholarship Winner
  • Graduated from the University with a B.A. in 1969

Post-Graduate:

  • Earned an M.S. from SUNY Brockport in 1979
  • Has worked in a variety of roles and responsibilities for the Rochester City School District since graduating from the University; teacher of special education, 1969-79; Coordinating Administrator of Special Education, 1979-90; Vice Principal os PS #12, 1990-96; Nominated as Administrator of the Year, 1994-95; Principal of the World of Inquiry School #58; Named Rochester's Administrator of the Year, 1998-99
