At Rochester:

  • Competed in 3 sports as a freshman—soccer, track and field, and swimming
  • Dedicated swimmer for UR Rivermen in 4 seasons
  • As junior, broke 100-yard backstroke record (1:08.6) and cooperatively se the Cornell Pool and UR record in the 300-yard medley (3:13.4)
  • Graduated with a B.A. in science in 1943

Post-Graduate:

  • Worked as a chemical engineer at Petroleum Chemicals, Inc. in Baltimore, MD (1943-44)
  • Active duty with U.S. Naval Reserve; March, 1944-November, 1946
  • Worked at the Institute of Atomic Research at Iowa State College; January, 1947-December, 1954
  • Scientist and engineer at Xerox Corporation; September, 1955-December, 1982
  • After retirement, served as an independent color scientist and colorant engineer from January, 1983 to March, 2006
  • Member of US Master's Swimming for 20 years (12 meets per year)
  • 1985 National Senior Games personal best finish in backstroke (3:09.17) and third place in 2005 (4:10.8)
  • Passed away in July, 2013
