At Rochester:
- Three-year letterwinner for football
- Captain of both the 1948 freshman team and the 1951 varsity
- Shared team rushing title, which included career best 140-yard individual total at Union
- Served as placekicker in his senior year, hitting 15 of 17 PATs
- Team's MVP that year
- Member of sophomore and junior honor societies
- Member, Tau Beta Pi (engineering honor society)
- President of Senior Class
Post-Graduate:
- Has served as both a member and as a chairman of the Alumni Athletic Recruiting committee
- Served as Chairman of the Rochester-area Alumni Annual and Capital Fund Drive, as well as President of the Rochester-area Alumni Organization
- Member for two terms of the Trustees' Council
- In 1997, received the Lysle S. "Spike" Garnish Citation Award from the Department of Athletics and Recreation for longtime contributions to the Athletic program, both on and off the field
- Has UR Athletic Department Male Scholar-Athlete award named after him.
- Passed away in August, 2017
