John F. Forsyth
'43
At Rochester:
- Played football under Dud DeGroot and was honored as Rochester's best all-around player in 1942
- Learned to fly in 1939, and by his junior year, he was an instructor in acrobatics in open cockpit biplanes
- Earned an A.B. in Economics in 1943
Post-Graduate:
- Flew Navy planes during World War II and earned numerous decorations, including the Navy Cross, the Silver Star, and the Distinguished Flying Cross
- Earned a degree from the Harvard Law School in 1948
- Formed a family law firm with his father, C.B. Forsyth, in 1950
- The practice opened an office in Florida in 1974
- Published a book, Helldivers in 1990 about combat flying
- Passed away in July, 2000
