Thomas L. Gibbons

- Four-year participant with the football team (1954-54), including the unbeaten, untied 1952 team (first in local history)
- Leading ground gainer for unbeaten 52s with 680 yards rushing (7.3 average) and 9 touchdowns
- Led team in rushing in each of the next two years and earned the Associated Press Little All-America recognition in each of those years
- Award the Gordon Wallace Trophy as Outstanding Back in 1954
- During his four years, the Yellowjacket gridiron team had a cumulative record of 24-7, the most successful stretch in school history at that point
- In high school (Erie, PA), he played football, wrestled for two and a half years, and ran track for three seasons, excelling in the sprints
- Had a War Memorial Scholarship and a regular NROTC appointment at the University beginning in his sophomore year
- Member of Psi Upsilon
- Graduated from the University in June, 1956 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Passed away in January, 2014
