Maria Budihas Jensen
'87
At Rochester:
- Joined the women's soccer team as a freshman in 1983
- Selected to play on the New York Empire State Soccer Team representing the Hudson Valley Region in 1984
- Named co-captain as a junior and a senior
- In her junior year, was the only Yellowjacket player selected to the All-Tournament team at the new York State Soccer Tournament
- Was also voted MVP of the women's team and selected to the All-Greater Rochester Team her junior year
- In her senior year, led the team to its first ever National Championship title and was selected as a first team All-American Soccer Player and selected to the first team All-Northeaster squad
- Was also selected to the All-Tournament Team at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament and selected by Soccer America magazine as one of the 11 most valuable women's collegiate soccer players in the country
- Earned her B.A. in economics
Post-Graduate:
- Upon graduation, received her Active Duty commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army
- Served 11 1/2 years on Active Duty from May, 1987 to December, 1998
- Currently the Battalion Commander for the 439th Engineer Battalion in Bismarck, ND
