'39
At Rochester:
- Earned six letters between basketball and baseball
- Captained the 1938-39 basketball team, which finished 12-1
- Won the Golden Athletic Award in 1939
- Earned his BA in Economics in 1939
Post-Graduate:
- Five years of military service, culminating as Chief, Logistics Section, USAF China Theater
- Mustered out as Lt. Col. with a Bronze Star
- Joined Sears, Roebuck & Co. in 1939 and returned to the company in 1946 after military service
- Held several management positions with Sears, including manager of the Merchandise Comparison Department from 1960-65, and National Merchandise Manager from 1966-1974
- Served with West Suburban Chapter of American Cancer Society, including terms as Chapter Crusade Chairman and Chapter Chairman
- Played leadership roles in fund raising for organizations in Chicago and Los Angeles
- Retired from Sears in 1980 after a 41-year career
