Madelon "Lonnie" Lief

At Rochester:

  • Captain of the women's basketball and volleyball teams
  • Winner of the Merle Spurrier Award in 1977

Post-Graduate:

  • Attended the University of Virginia where she earned an M.A. in English 1978
  • Earned a Ph.D. in English from Indiana University in 1984
  • Worked as an instructor in English at Lawrence University in Wisconsin and was promoted to Assistant Professor after receiving her doctorate
  • Left in 1987 to enroll in law school at the University of Wisconsin where she received her J.D. in 1990
  • Began private practice in Minneapolis, MN in 1990 and joined a Madison, WI law firm two years later
  • In the summer of 1994, she accepted an offer to teach as a visiting assistant professor of English at Lawrence
  • In 1996, began working in current job as a legislative attorney for the State of Wisconsin's Legislative Reference Bureau
