- Worked for 10 years as a buyer for the A&P food chain and 16 years as business manager at the Century Club of Rochester
- Has operated an income tax preparation business in Penn Yan and Rochester since 1975
- On the golf course, he won the Rochester District Golf Championship 8 times and the Oak Hill Club Championship 16 times
- Named Rochester Amateur Golfer of the Year in 1986
