Credits much of his development to Lysle "Spike" Garnish, assistant coach in basketball and football as well as trainer
Named All-Upstate NY football in 1943 and won the University's Alcott Neary Award that year as Most Improved Basketball Player
Earned an A.B. in Education from Syracuse in 1948 and an M.A. in 1954
Numerous coaching assignments on the scholastic and collegiate levels after leaving the University ranks in 1954
