'75
At Rochester:
- A national champion in cross country and track who earned All-America honors in all three NCAA Divisions
- Ran at the College Division nationals in 1973
- Won the 1974 NCAA Division III national championship and ran at Division I nationals that year where he finished 19th (top 25 earn All-America honors)
- Won NCAA 5,000 that year
- Nominated for a Rhodes Scholarship in 1975
- Earned baccalaureate degrees in Statistics and Biology from the University in 1975
Post-Graduate:
- Graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1979
- Assistant Professor of Medicine in the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins University
- Member of the American Federation for Clinical Research and the American Thoracic Society
- Recipient of the A. McGehee Harvey Burroughs Wellcome Clinician Scientist Award in 1989
- Finalist for the RJR Nabisco Research Scholar Award in 1990
