At Rochester:
- Played football for three seasons at the University (1940, 1941, 1942) and served as a co-captain of the squad in 1942
- Belonged to three Honorary Societies: Chi Rho, Mendicants, and Keidaeans
- Also belonged to the Board of Control
- Graduated from the University in 1943 with a baccalaureate degree in Economics
Post-Graduate:
- Earned an LL.B. from the University of Michigan in 1949
- Admitted to practice law in the state of Ohio in 1949 and in New York in 1950
- Member of the Monroe County, New York State, and American Bar Associations
- Senior Counsel, Attorney, and Partner at Harter, Secrest, & Emery in Rochester
- Served on the Alumni Association Board of Governors (1954-1957), the Alumni Federation Board of Governors (1960-1963), and the Alumni Scholarship Committee (1949)
- In 1980, he received the Lysle "Spike" Garnish Memorial Committee Citation for contributions to the University
- Life Member of the Board of Trustees
