Kelly Jean Peters Spurlock
'97
At Rochester:
- Sixteen-time All-American in swimming
- In the 100 year butterfly she finished in the top eight, four years in a row
- Holds several school records including the 100-yard fly, 100 IM, and 200 IM; her name is still on almost all of the top ten times for her events
- 1996 Most Outstanding Performer at the UCAA Swimming and Diving Championships
- Won back-to-back events at the UAA Championships in 1997, and was a multiple-time UAA Swimmer of the Week
- Reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in one season with the volleyball team
- Rotary Youth Leadership Award recipient, Garnish scholar, and was a finalist for Rochester Area Woman Athlete of the Year
Post-Graduate:
- Enrolled in the University of South Carolina and coached a club team throughout graduate school
- Received her Master’s in Chemical Oceanography and then went on to become assistant swim coach at the University of the South (Sewanee) and head swim coach at Wells College
- Earned Atlantic Women’s Colleges Conference Coach of the Year while at Wells
- Taught math at The Dunn School in California earning teacher of the year and also starting a swim program there
- Currently is the broker/owner at Active Agency Real Estate Office
- Resides in Clarence, NY with her husband, Brian, and three sons
